About Urban Artisan

Welcome!

I’m Nicole, the owner of Urban Artisan! California born, Oregon raised! Former educator turned “maker”.

I started BEAN (sign shop) in the summer of 2013 to fulfil a creative outlet! What started as a way to affordably decorate my own home, quickly turned into family and friends asking if they could
buy my creations to style in their own homes. By 2015, I had an online storefront + full workshop operating out of my garage.

In 2015 my husband and I contemplated opening a local studio, which took a backseat to a busy life! 2020 provided some time to reevaluate my priorities and focus on what fills my creative soul! I’m a teacher by trade, artist by nature. Combining two of my favorite things, teaching + creating is the foundation of Urban Artisan.

I’ve traded in my educator work attire for a messy bun and paint stained apron to start a new chapter. A story that focuses on creating custom designs, on trend decor, and providing a hands-on studio that feels warm and welcoming for you to shop, create, relax and check out from the hustle of life with family, friends, co-workers and complete strangers!

When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me in the company of my amazingly supportive husband (and co-owner of Urban Artisan), our two kids and sweet fur babies.

The very best part of all of this, is that you’re here… on this journey with me! Without you, none of this would be possible. Thank you, from my family to yours!

Welcome to our family!
